Dynamics of Interpersonal Communication between Mothers and Children After Losing a Father in Tengah Village, Utan District, Sumbawa Regency. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of interpersonal communication between mothers and children after losing a father and the adaptation process carried out in the social environment in Tengah Village, Utan District, Sumbawa Regency. Losing a father not only impacts the emotional condition of family members, but also influences communication patterns, role division, and social relationships within the family. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques are carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of mothers who are single parents and children who are raised without a father figure. The results show that the loss of a father figure causes changes in the mother's role in the family, changes in the child's emotional condition, difficulties in expressing feelings, and changes in the openness of communication between mother and child. Despite facing various challenges, mothers and children strive to build more open, empathetic, and mutually supportive communication as a form of adaptation to the new family conditions. In addition, support from the extended family and the social environment also plays a role in helping the adjustment process after losing a father figure. Thus, interpersonal communication is a crucial factor in strengthening the mother-child relationship and supporting the family's adaptation process after the loss of a father.
