Abstract

Running is a type of exercise that is easy to do and widely popular among people. Running has many physiological and psychological benefits for the body. In addition, running is not free from the risk of injury. Data from several events show that there are 2.5 injuries per 1000 events. However, novice runners have a higher risk, which is 33 injuries every 1000 accident. An injury that often occurs in runners or athletes is an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. ACL injury is a common knee injury that occurs in many sports. The purpose of this community engagement is to provide knowledge and understanding in efforts and control of ACL injuries in Samawa Runners. The method used in this research is to use the method of camp, discussion and conduct movement training. This community service activity concluded that socialization and training activities can increase runners' knowledge about ACL injury prevention strategies for Samawa Runners. The success is shown by changes in enthusiastic behavior in each stage of the activity, especially during the discussion and training stages. It is necessary to conduct continuous socialization and training for Samawa Runners and runners in Sumbawa Regency.
