Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of personal factors and social factors on entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z in Sumbawa Regency, both partially and simultaneously. This study employs an associative research design. The data examined in this study are quantitative data in the form of respondents’ response scores obtained directly from primary sources. The population of this study consists of all Generation Z business actors in Sumbawa Regency, the exact number of whom is unknown. The researcher determined a sample of 50 respondents based on Roscoe’s theory and selected them using a simple random sampling method. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, partial hypothesis testing (t-test), simultaneous hypothesis testing (F-test), and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that, partially, personal factors and social factors have positive and significant effects on entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z in Sumbawa Regency. The calculated t-values for personal factors are 3.503 and social factors are 4.071, both of which are greater than the critical t-value of 2.012. Meanwhile, simultaneously, personal factors and social factors have a significant effect on entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z in Sumbawa Regency, with a calculated F-value of 162.033, which is greater than the critical F-value of 3.200 (162.033 > 3.200). Personal factors and social factors explain 86.8% of the variation in entrepreneurial interest among Generation Z in Sumbawa Regency, while the remaining 13.2% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study, such as spiritual quotient, self-efficacy, and the need for achievement.
